Tara "Missy" A.

Missy became an assistant for Fur and Feathers Veterinary Care in October 2022. Born to parents that raised show dogs, she fell in love with animals at a very young age. After graduating high school, she completed Animal Science courses, learning vet assisting, kennel attending, and grooming skills. She volunteered at the Broome County Humane Society for a year, and then went on to become the animal caretaker at Creature Comforts for over a decade. She then worked a year as an assistant for Vestal Veterinary Hospital and is now proud to be part of the Fur and Feathers team.

Outside the animal world, Missy has volunteered 8 years of service as a firefighter. When home, she loves spending every moment with her 5 dogs: Ramona, Dalia, Rumpelstiltskin, Churro, and Brockie. Her 2 kitties: Nugget and Oona. As well as her Senegal parrot: Malachi, and Red-tailed boa: Leviathan.
